半导体行业近年来出现了多个天量级的整合、并购， NVIDIA 400 亿美元收购了 ARM ， AMD 花了 350 亿美元收购赛灵思， Intel 现在准备花 300 亿美元（约合1939亿元）收购 GF 格芯，后者可是 AMD “前女友”。
考虑到 Intel 、 GF 、 AMD 之间的复杂关系，这笔 300 亿美元的收购很有意思，但完成的难度也不低。 日前有 GF 的代表称他们还没有收到 Intel 公司发来的收购要约。
Intel 都要收购 GF 了，为什么 GF 的人连正式通知都没收到？ 分析称 Intel 很可能是跟 GF 的母公司——阿联酋的穆巴达拉投资基金谈判，后者 100% 持有 GF 公司， AMD 之前持有的少数股份前几年就清光了。
格芯公司 2009 年从 AMD 的晶圆制造业务剥离出来，找了中东石油土豪基金投资，然而 10 多年来财务表现不佳，烧了几百亿美元的资金也没有发展出先进工艺， 7nm 工艺已经在 2018 年被无限期搁置了，实际上就是放弃了先进工艺的研发，专注成熟工艺的代工，这几年推出的 22FDX 、 12FDX 代工工艺表现还不错。
Intel 收购格芯自然也不是为了先进工艺考虑的， 而是借助格芯的成熟工艺进入晶圆代工市场， 毕竟格芯现在也是全球第三（有时候是第四）晶圆代工厂，仅次于台积电、三星。
当然，不排除 Intel 还有别的考虑，因为 Intel 、格芯是美国本土仅有的几家晶圆制造厂，两者整合之后， 美国针对半导体行业推出的 520 亿美元的刺激计划中，大部分资金显然都会投给 Intel+GF 了。
