Following the sale of 5 original works by xu Beihong, three works by Pablo Picasso, a master of modern art, will be aucted online on August 30.
The three works include the ceramic "Lunch on the Grass", "Knights and Horses" and the color lithograph "Happy Clown", among which "Lunch on the grass" is the most expensive of the three works, with a starting price of 8 million yuan.

In recent years, Picasso's works have been highly sought after by collectors and have reached record prices at international auctions.
In May, for example, his painting "Woman Sitting by the Window" sold for $103.4 million.
A few years ago, his "Women of Algiers (Version O)" sold for $179 million.
"Lunch on the Grass" is one of Picasso's most precious ceramic works of more than 30 years.
It was created in 1964. It is a piece of red pottery porcelain. The body is carved with a knife pattern.
Picasso said it was influenced by edouard Manet, the founder of impressionism.
In 1863, Manet made a name for himself with his controversial oil painting "Lunch on the Lawn" in Paris.
One hundred years later, Picasso repainted the classic painting on ceramics in his own style.
"Lunch on the Grass," once part of the collection of Marina Picasso's granddaughter, is a regular at pavilions.
It was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York three times in 1985, 2010 and 2014, and has been included in the Permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The other piece in the sale, "Knight and Horse," dated 1952, is in the collection of the Ceramic Museum of Madura in France.

In addition to the original Picasso, 17 works by Picasso's photographer Edward Quinn were also included in the Ali auction.
Edward Quinn was one of the few photographers Picasso invited into his studio and home, and they formed a lasting friendship.
The photographs, which document Picasso's time working and living in his ceramics studio in Madura and were featured in a 2017 exhibition at the Picasso Museum, each had a starting price of 18,000 yuan.
The works are offered by L.C. Chinese and Foreign Art, the first foreign-owned gallery in Guangdong province and the only authorized partner of the Picasso Foundation and the Edward Quinn Museum in China.
In addition, the works are being authenticated by Jonathan Nash, a former senior adviser to Sotheby's, Christie's and others for their "Picasso Ceramics show."
